Artist's Description

These Clouds are typical of our summer Monsoon season. The monsoons are frequented with high humidity for a few days with generally afternoon rainstorms. Then the weather shifts and things get dry! This was photographed in summer standing at Red Rock Crossing, home of Cathedral Rock in Sedona. In Northern Arizona, Cathedral is one of the gems in Sedona's high Desert. It is a captivating beauty of red rock sandstone, weathered by time and the elements that awaits you.
In this magnificent red rock country, Cathedral Rock a stunning masterpiece of breathtaking red rock monolith will touch your heart, and calm your inner self. One of the wonderful things about this beauty of nature, is it's ability to charm you with its shadows, reflections, and variety of colors. When the light hits Cathedral, one of the most visited spots of Sedona, it glows and the red and orange sandstones are nature in the raw. I ventured out West in the early 70's. After several trips to Northern Arizona with it's Majestic Skies, Red Rocks, and wide open spaces, I realized I wanted to settle here. Well, Fate came into the picture and numerous stops came along. I ventured to San Juan Islands, British Columbia, Oregon, Utah, Northern and Southern California, and even Southern Arizona. Yet , I felt unsettled looking for home to sink roots. Finally Sedona tugged hard , and I settled here in the mid 90's and rediscovered my sense of Gratitude and Enjoyment. Well I,m mostly retired now, traveling more, and have relocated in an old mining town in the Sierras; Time for change; new areas to explore.
