Description
A Long drive with Loved ones brought me to this photographers heaven in the Quaker State. Pennsylvania is the 6th most populated state, is filled with all types of folks, and much rural beauty. Adams Falls is one of 24 waterfalls found in Rickets Glen State Park, which is located in 3 different counties, Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia. It is located 30 miles north of Bloomsburg on PA route 487 in Pennsylvania on 13 thousand acres. It is known for its old growth forest and 24 waterfalls. These waterfalls are amazing. You allow yourself 3 days at least to visit and appreciate all of them! It was once home to Native Americans who were Iroquoian – speaking Susquehannocks who lived in this area in the 1600 century. On November 5, 1768, the British acquired land called the New Purchase from the Iroquois. The park was fully opened in 1944, and is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited. The park offers cabins, great hiking, and photography, horseback riding, camping, and hunting. It is very helpful to have good hiking shoes as some of the trails are steep and sometimes wet and slippery. Walking sticks are also very helpful, and if you love photography as I do;bring a good sturdy and reliable Tripod and an Neutral Density filter. In the spring, bring some Bug Spray. At Lake Jean, you have swimming, fishing, canoeing, and Kayaking. In winter, there is wonderful cross country skiing, and for the brave of heart; Ice Climbing. This area is also great for viewing of Birds, and other creatures. Pennsylvania says it is one of the top 20 must see parks. The Waterfalls and surrounding lakes are awesome. The trails through the woods are fun and engaging. Watch out for Poison plants thoughout this park area. This is a wonderful place to visit in the fall as colors are beautiful. This rural part of the Quaker State is an enchanting place to visit. I think this is the most beautiful part of the state
