Description
Summer time at the Pacific Ocean is one of my favorite times. Whether walking, swimming, surfing, or photography; the beach is wonderful. Beach play is one awesome experience.Playtime on the sand at the water can be a joyful time. This area from Santa Cruz south on Highway one can have lots of traffic, but there is something for everyone. In Northern California, there are many small beach towns on the Pacific tucked away a few miles south of Santa Cruz off highway One. This is located on the north end of Monterey Bay about a 2 hour drive south of San Francisco. This charming coastal village is small, and parking can be tight, but it is full of little quaint shops and local restaurants that give this beach town a wonderful character. The town has a nearby pier, a small family friendly beach, and small rolling waves. Capitola is a perfect place for a cozy weekend getaway. The weather is mild throughout the year, with cool and wet winters, fog in the summer mornings, and mostly sunny and dry summers. Besides soaking up the sunshine on the Pacific, there are numerous watersports available. This is a family friendly beach town with water sports like Sailing, Paddle boarding, Swimming, as well as Surfing. If you drive a few miles north to Santa Cruz, you can find 11 world class surf breaks, including Pleasure Point, and Steamer Lane. Santa Cruz is a wonderful beach community, known for great beaches, the boardwalk, its incredible coastline, and Redwood forests. The wharf is known for various sea creatures, like seals, an occasional dolphin, and numerous sea birds. All in all, a wonderful time awaits you, whether walking, bicycling, photographing, surfing, or just chilling in this wonderful area in northern California.
