Beach play is one awesome experience.Playtime on the sand at the water can be a joyful time. This area from Santa Cruz south on Highway one can have lots of traffic, but there is something for everyone. In Northern California, there are many small beach towns on the Pacific tucked away a few miles south of Santa Cruz off highway One. This is located on the north end of Monterey Bay about a 2 hour drive south of San Francisco. This charming coastal village is small, and parking can be tight, but it is full of little quaint shops and local restaurants that give this beach town a wonderful character. The town has a nearby pier, a small family friendly beach, and small rolling waves. Capitola is a perfect place for a cozy weekend getaway. I ventured out West in the early 70's. After several trips to Northern Arizona with it's Majestic Skies, Red Rocks, and wide open spaces, I realized I wanted to settle here. Well, Fate came into the picture and numerous stops came along. I ventured to San Juan Islands, British Columbia, Oregon, Utah, Northern and Southern California, and even Southern Arizona. Yet , I felt unsettled looking for home to sink roots. Finally Sedona tugged hard , and I settled here in the mid 90's and rediscovered my sense of Gratitude and Enjoyment. Well I,m mostly retired now, traveling more, and have relocated in an old mining town in the Sierras; Time for change; new areas to explore.
