Awhile back, I got to play, and camp near Santa Cruz. One of my favorite places is Natural Bridges Beach off of West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz.

Natural Bridges State Beach is world-renowned for its yearly migration of monarch butterflies. Visitors can see thousands during the butterflies’ peak season. The best time to see monarchs in the park is usually from mid-October to late January. However, the local monarch population has been on the decline. State Parks is working on projects designed to support monarch habitat at both Natural Bridges and Lighthouse Field, including coastal wetland restoration, flood prevention, trail improvements, eucalyptus regeneration and the implementation of a Crumb Clean campaign to reduce predatory yellow jacket infestations. This beach, with its famous natural bridge, is an excellent vantage point for viewing shore birds, migrating whales, and seals and otters playing offshore. Further along the beach, tidepools off...
I ventured out West in the early 70's. After several trips to Northern Arizona with it's Majestic Skies, Red Rocks, and wide open spaces, I realized I wanted to settle here. Well, Fate came into the picture and numerous stops came along. I ventured to San Juan Islands, British Columbia, Oregon, Utah, Northern and Southern California, and even Southern Arizona. Yet , I felt unsettled looking for home to sink roots. Finally Sedona tugged hard , and I settled here in the mid 90's and rediscovered my sense of Gratitude and Enjoyment. Well I,m mostly retired now, traveling more, and have relocated in an old mining town in the Sierras; Time for change; new areas to explore.
