Several years back, I went up in the summer to the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. The weather was perfect, but my footing was not. Soon after this, I had to leave due to my Fall. I hope to return sometime soon. It is such a Beautiful area. Multnomah County

Directions:Along I-84, take exit 28 at Bridal Veil (or exit 35 at Dodson if traveling west on I-84). Drive east along the Columbia Gorge Scenic Hwy for 5.5 miles to the signed turnout for Horsetail Falls.

Horsetail Falls is an easy to get to and very impressive horsetail-shaped waterfall (it is named well). There is a pool for swimming or wading, though it might be a bit on the cold side. I ventured out West in the early 70's. After several trips to Northern Arizona with it's Majestic Skies, Red Rocks, and wide open spaces, I realized I wanted to settle here. Well, Fate came into the picture and numerous stops came along. I ventured to San Juan Islands, British Columbia, Oregon, Utah, Northern and Southern California, and even Southern Arizona. Yet , I felt unsettled looking for home to sink roots. Finally Sedona tugged hard , and I settled here in the mid 90's and rediscovered my sense of Gratitude and Enjoyment. Well I,m mostly retired now, traveling more, and have relocated in an old mining town in the Sierras; Time for change; new areas to explore. In Nature, I find that feeling of Peacefulness and Stillness. I hope...
